Is Your Understanding Of Network Marketing Outdated?

I knew things in our industry had changed, but I didn’t realize just HOW MUCH they had changed until recently. Now we all know nothing stays the same, and progress is always welcome in network marketing, but I don’t think many of us are truly aware of the vast differences we’ve seen technology bring in just the past few years.

Ten years ago–even five years ago–a successful couple or individual working in Networking limited themselves to a single program. Why? Because working direct sales or MLM took a TON of work.

Mike and Rita were about the best Networking team around a few years ago. They held weekly meetings at the public library and held even more meetings at their home. If you made any contact whatsoever with Mike and Rita, they would keep Your phone and fax warm for days until you finally signed up on their program.

Not only that, but a BIG part of Mike and Rita’s success was due to their non-stop mailing of sales letters and postcards. Rita spent many a night posting their prospecting ads on Internet sites and newsgroups.

More than once they got kicked off of AOL and other ISP’s for being too aggressive when contacting prospects — a new no-no in the online age.

I supposed all the work Mike and Rita did was worth it, but at what cost? They worked night and day for years. And even then, I don’t think they were pulling in more than a few thousand dollars a month.

Now let’s fast forward to today. Mark and Sandra are the talk of the neighborhood. They live in a big expensive house and drive a luxury car. Most people can’t figure out how Mark and Sandra afford it. They’re seen at home all day and go on lengthy vacations five or six times a year.

That part makes me smile, because I KNOW what Mark and Sandra do. They’re working in direct sales and MLM from home. Only there is a key difference in what they’re doing from what Mike and Rita were doing a few years ago.

Mark and Sandra use completely automated online systems to find huge numbers of leads, then filter through the leads to find only the best. Only then do Mark and Sandra start talking to their leads.

You see, Mark and Sandra don’t spend their days prospecting. They let the technology do all that prospecting and cold calling for them. The only time Mark and Sandra talk on the phone or answer an email is when a very hot prospect calls them to place an order.

And here’s the good part: Because the technology takes so much of the work out of direct sales, Mark and Sandra are able to work several very successful networking businesses. Rather than earning a few thousand dollars a month, they’re bringing in TENS OF THOUSANDS.

Plus, with all that automation (and help from their upline organization) Mark and Sandra are able to take off and travel the world just about anytime they like.

Now that’s progress!

Network Marketing – Is Duplication A Fantasy Or Reality?

One of the central tenants in the promotional material about network marketing, is the power of duplication. The story goes that you’ll refer 3 people, who’ll each refer 3 people, and so on…

This is truly the power of leverage, but the problem is that most people who sign up for programs have little to no experience either online or offline in building a business and networking it. They don’t know enough to provide valuable information that acts as a relationship builder, and most often, they don’t have the skills to set up an autoresponder account or a website.

Most network marketing programs have information on how to generate leads, but if someone doesn’t have the skill-set to write a good autoresponder series, they’re left to rely on the one the company has provided. Unfortunately, this is often a series of sales messages, that provide little of real value to someone starting out. The leads you load up to this autoresponder series are simply sent a series of letters telling them why they should
‘buy-buy-buy’. And most people have a sense that they actually need to know a little more about how things work on the internet to make their prospective business successful So, the sign-up rate is not going to be particularly high.

Of the people who do sign up from those emails, how many of them are now going to be equipped to make the program work? After all, if they don’t start making money in a few months, they will drop out of the program. And the principle of leverage won’t start to work if people aren’t being guided or taught to take effective action. It’s easy to take action, even easier to spend money on poor quality advertising. But that won’t build a business.

A system needs to be in place to develop people into leaders – to take them from newbie to expert in the shortest time possible. And it’s a system that needs to take into account the fundamental principles of direct sales. The internet is simply a different form of direct sales, and it’s a well known fact that most people won’t buy from you until they’ve seen your tips, or other valuable information, seven or more times.

Having an autoresponder system, set up with newsletter style emails that regularly keep in touch with your prospects, is vital for success. It provides several benefits. The first is that over time, as people begin to see that you are offering something of real value in helping them get started with an online business, more sign-ups into your preferred program will naturally follow. What is more, these sign ups will have been effectively trained in some of the fundamental principles and methods that lead to success on the internet.

There are a number of ways to get content for the series. If you’re just starting out yourself, your upline may be able to help you collaborate on a series of letters. Or, you could invest in some good quality courses and study them until you have more knowledge yourself. And, you could of course hire a writer with small business/internet marketing/network marketing experience to write the articles for you. These could then be shared with your downline to get them started.

As well as an autoresponder system, you’ll need a direct sales page that ethically persuades people to sign up to your autoresponder series. There are several options for creating that sales letter. You could study other successful sales letters and adapt them to your needs. Or, hire someone to write it for you. Although this can be expensive, it’s a one time investment that you can share with your downline, by providing them access to your sales copy.

The principle of duplication requires going ‘above and beyond’ the sales material the company has given each member. By investing either time, or money, or both, in acquiring quality prospecting material, this can then be shared with your downline to create a truly duplicatable system. Perhaps all won’t follow it, but it will give potential leaders a chance to really shine.

What You Must Understand About Network Marketing Scams

If you have surfed on the internet for any appreciable amount of time, then you might have come across some ads that are definitely eye-catching. They carry phrases such as “Make Thousands of Dollars Working From Home!” or “Earn $5000 for Fifteen Minutes A Day!” These ads, to say the least, are enticing to most of us, who are always looking for ways to improve the condition of our lives.

Unfortunately enough, it is often this desire to improve our financial condition that leads us into all the wrong ventures. When greed comes into play, rationality is often lost, and thus at any point in history there have always been people who have been tricked out of their hard-earned money.

Understanding the Nature of Network marketing Scams

Network marketing is, by its nature, very susceptible to manipulation by unscrupulous individuals and organizations. After all, the majorities of people who enter into these types of ventures are generally inexperienced and know little About the nature of business. Often, they are simply answering an ad that they chanced upon in a newspaper, on TV, or on the internet.

Most people have an abundance of common sense in them, but when it comes to money and especially the prospect of making tons of it, most people simply lose much of their natural cautiousness. Even if What a network marketer says is almost too good to be true, there is always something in us that wants to know for sure. After all, we reason, this could be the opportunity that finally makes me rich.

Most network marketing scams present themselves as being simple and easy. In fact, this is a major selling point for most scams. Many people work very hard on their day jobs, spending their time and energy on the pressing tasks of the day. And yet they often find that even after all their hard work, they still are not where they want to be financially.

Enter the network marketer, who promises everyone that they can make tons of money by doing very minimal work. With their limited time and energy already being expended to the limit, they want to believe that there is a better way. After all, it might be the key to finally changing their life.

Being Cautious: The Cardinal Rule In Business

Warren Buffett, the famed investor, likes to quip that “you can’t do good business with bad people.” This is an adage that everyone must keep in mind. No matter who you business with, be absolutely sure that you are dealing with someone of integrity. Don’t simply look for intelligence and ambition, but for good moral character. If your erstwhile business partner has two of the aforementioned traits but not the third, you are literally asking to be swindled.

Bad News With Network Marketing if You Don’t Want to be Successful

Do you find it hard to talk to prospects on the phone, getting hung up on, or handling objections?

I used to be like that, constantly taking the prospects that I would generate on the internet and vomit my business opportunity to them.

Time after time, I would basically get laughed at followed by an immediate “Click”.

I just couldn’t figure it out. What was I doing wrong? There were so many people out there that were effortlessly sponsoring people.

Network marketing is highly lucrative when you do things right. Before I get into the 3 simple steps I’d like to cover some very beneficial topics first regarding your business.

Most people get the idea that if they have a great company With a great compensation plan and awesome products that they need to go out there and either talk about the company or the products.

Wrong!

Again & again, people Want to know the benefits of your opportunity “If” they are interested in the first place.

“Can this make me money?”

“How much can I make?”

“What can I do with the product?”

“What will the product do for me?”

If you can’t exercise even the basic principles I’m talking about, your lead generation efforts whether they be big or small, won’t have any lasting value because you can’t talk to your prospects correctly.

Another surpriser…

Your business has nothing to do with your company. I don’t care how revolutionary your comp. plan is, how life changing your products are, it doesn’t matter. What matters is how you market your opportunity.

Your business is MARKETING!

When looking at the top income earners for any specific company, you find out that what they did to create that level of success was market their business properly.

They didn’t go out there and pitch it to everyone they saw or play the “my company is better than yours” game, day in and day out.

Network marketing done right means you don’t have to sell, you don’t have to ask people to join your business, they ask you!

You don’t have to post fliers, hold meetings, talk to random people off the street or spam people. That’s how it is and how it can be if you do the 3 step system:

Seek

Learn

Execute

Seek: search and look for the proper information to build your business whether it comes to communicating with your prospects, generating leads, etc…

Learn: take the time to learn the information once found and absorb it so you can then use it to benefit you and your team members

Execute: you must take MASSIVE ACTION in order to get any results out of your situation! Without this step, even if you have the proper knowledge, it will just sit there and collect dust.

“Knowledge is potential power waiting to be utilized.”

Now I went around and around in circles for what seemed like a lifetime. I wasn’t getting anywhere with my business, basically sponsoring one or two every now and then.

Sad part was they were doing the same thing since their upline (me) couldn’t give them beneficial information to get them going.

I now sort in my lead generation efforts with who is good for it and simply who is not.

Basically think of it as if you were the manager interviewing to hire a new employee. Do you want someone who is negative and has no real goals or do you want someone is positive, passionate about what they pursue and has a plan of what they want to do?

By changing the way that I approach the conversation and the attitude that I have in the conversation, I am now not getting hung up on. I am sponsoring more than ever. (execute)

Prospects are actually thanking me for the conversations that we have and I no longer look at leads like “Boy, here we go again.”

What matters the most is what we say and how we say it to our prospects.

Sponsoring and talking to prospects doesn’t have to be hard, frustrating, or filled with rejection.

All you need to know is how to do it the right way and the fun way.

There’s many resources out there and the best way is to invest in becoming a better, more effective communicator.

One of the drawbacks in joining a network marketing business opportunity is the fact that Prospecting, cold calling and selling is of utmost importance. Many prospects fear having to do this and thus shy away from such business opportunities. Remember that building a relationship is very important in any online business. As such, you should not pitch your network marketing business opportunity until you have created a solid relationship. You do, after all, want a long term business and knowledge of this fact will help you to achieve that.
